What was the highlight of Virgin Hotels Edinburgh
We couldn’t have chosen a better location, it was perfect for the areas we wanted to see.
It was Beautiful & quirky. I would have loved to have more time to explore it. I loved having a room with a Castle View. Every member of staff was friendly & helpful.
I wasn’t enamoured with the ‘Larder’ Breakfast! The hot food wasn’t hot. I didn’t like the bread/sour dough in the basket! It seemed toasted & cold & difficult to eat. I feel there would be less waste, if the continental buffet remained, but the hot food and fish dishes were cooked to Order! The implied waste worried me at a Hotel with ‘sustainable’ Values. It was also hard to find the breakfast room as it was advertised as ‘Eve’. But was moved to a different area for January.

Fabulous break from real life.
Stylish and quirky. Comfortable. Attractive.
Nothing really, it’s a fun place. Breakfast arrangements were not clear. Good food though. Generally was good value for money (in January) but resented paying extra (7.50 plus service) for the porridge!

Excellent location, very smart hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.Would definitely revisit
Breakfast was fine, but limited. Choices such as poached eggs or pancakes had to be paid for separately from the buffet options.
The bar was lovely, but really just for expensive cocktails. There was no beer on draft like typical bars.Also the “ Eve “ restaurant was closed while we were there which was disappointing.Staff said it was because the hotel was quiet this week.
